Autel MaxiDAS DS708 Scanner

Autel MaxiDAS DS708 Scanner
I am impressed with the user-friendly capabilties of this scanner. I used this scanner extensively on european vehicles. I was impressed on all the systems that the DS-708 can go into. The merging of sensor readings on graphing is great in finding, and diagnosing sensor problems.

  1. Bought this Scanner on autel ds708 to replace my Snap On MT 2500 that had outlived its usefullness since CAN OBD2 was now coming into my shop w/ regularity. Registered, updated it, I was off and running scanning and diagnosing anything from GM, FORD, CHRYSLER, BMW, MERCEDES, NISSAN, TOYOTA etc. Gave me a lot of confidence that I was able to accurately diagnose most driveability problems. For the money I can't complain, it proved it's worth and then some. It's now on the top of my desk all apart and dead. I started to notice a couple of month's ago that the Touch Screen became erractic and inconsistent whenever I tried to navigate through the menu's. You had to press repeatedly some of the items on the screen to get to the next screen, then one day it just stopped all together. After determining that the Resistive Touch Screen was the culprit I ordered another from autel maxisys ms908 diagnostic system with wireless vci a slow boat from China. After finally installing it, it was no better. Called Autel in New York only to find out that installing a new Touch Screen had very little success and that they could not, nor would not repair it. But would for $700, replace it, which meant that I had another 3 years to experience the same symptoms again using it in a shop on a professional basis. I opted not to do that and I am now considering of purchasing the Maxisys 905 instead. But for 3 years as a professional tech it did the job.
